Wilmington Blue Rocks starter Steven Hajjar was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Winston-Salem Dash, 5-2. The winning pitcher was Hajjar, now 7-4. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. Keith Malone was credited with the save, his 3rd in 5 tries.
With no one out in the bottom of the fifth, John Stinson had a chance to do some damage. Winston-Salem was trailing 3-0, but had runners on 2nd and 3rd. Stinson came to the plate against Steven Hajjar, and grounded out, driving in 1 run. But it was not enough to complete a Winston-Salem comeback.
With the win, Wilmington upped its record to 60-60.
