The Winston-Salem Dash picked up a win at Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium, taking down the Salem Red Sox, 6-4. Starting pitcher Patrick Wischusen was a big reason why. Wischusen got the win, improving to 5-11. He allowed 5 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. Wischusen allowed 2 runs. The third-place Dash go to 66-58.

In the bottom of the ninth, Ryan Lowell stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Red Sox were trailing 6-4, but had runners on 1st and 2nd. That's when Hunter Breault made a terrific pitch and Lowell grounded out. Gone was the dream of a Salem comeback.
