The Salem Red Sox defeated the Lynchburg Hillcats, 7-6, at Grainger Stadium today. Leading the charge for Salem was catcher Ricardo López. He went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Ethan Lindow earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record is now 8-2. Samuel Strickland earned the save for Salem, his 11th.

López had an important at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the sixth, when he hit a grand slam home run. The Red Sox went on to win.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," López said.

The Red Sox improved to 64-64.
