The Winston-Salem Dash had to overcome a good performance from Lynchburg pitcher Will Proctor to claim a 3-2 win at Grainger Stadium. Proctor went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run. The winner in relief was Vicente Vargo. He is now 7-5. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. Allan Cervantes finished the game for Winston-Salem and earned his 1st save.

Runs were few and far between in this one. So, Collin Burns's at-bat with two out in the top of the eighth was crucial. The Winston-Salem second baseman drew a walk, driving in 1 run, to give his team a 3-2 lead.

"Winning is contagious," said Burns. "We're looking forward to the next game."

The South-leading Dash are 80-58.
