Marauders Snag 5-3 Win

The Bradenton Marauders took St. Lucie pitcher Brent Lotzk's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Calvin Falwell Field. The final score had Bradenton getting past the Mets, 5-3. Lotzk went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 5. Getting the save was Lawrence Laffe, his 1st. The Marauders, now 6-2, have played some good baseball in the early going.
Had Mike Dyer not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Dyer hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Marauders.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Dyer told the Bradenton Citizen.
