Clearwater Beats Lakeland, 6-2

Getting offensive support from Edwin Griffin, the Clearwater Threshers topped the Lakeland Flying Tigers, 6-2. Griffin was 2 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Threshers. The win brings the Threshers to 16-9, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
Griffin contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Clearwater in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Griffin took a changeup from Chris Clarke and stroked the home run to right-center. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Threshers to leap in front, 4-2.
"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the Threshers," said Griffin.
