The home crowd had a good time watching the Clearwater Threshers and St. Lucie Mets get after it.

St. Lucie beat Clearwater on the strength of starter Jared Shuster's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 7-1. Shuster, now 2-1, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 10, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Jorge Martínez picked up the save for St. Lucie, his 2nd of the year.

Orelvis Martinez hit a 3-run home run off Brady Cook in the bottom of the first, which put the Mets ahead, 3-0. In addition to the homer, Martinez had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Martinez said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

St. Lucie raised its record to 21-11 with the win.
