Marauders Fall Short, 3-2, at Clearwater

Bailey Dees could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Bradenton Marauders lost, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Clearwater Threshers at Carpenter Complex. The winner in relief was Jason Rackers. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. Edison Hall locked down his 11th save.
Edwin Griffin hit a 2-run triple off Bailey Dees in the bottom of the third, which put the Threshers in front, 2-0. In addition to the triple, Griffin had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 3.
"I was a little disappointed," said Bradenton manager Stu Cole. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
Clearwater raised its record to 20-14 with the win.
