Daytona and Fort Myers duked it out and the Tortugas came out victorious.

Daytona right-hander Kevin Matthews pitched his team to victory over the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels at Hammond Stadium. The final score was 3-0. Jeff Hensley locked down his 3rd save.

It could have been a different outcome for Daytona, had it not been for Carlos Sánchez, the 20-year old right fielder . Sánchez contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put Daytona up, 2-0.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Sánchez said.

The Tortugas have an impressive 22-14 record.
