3-2 Loss Extends Florida Losing Streak
|
Despite a fine performance by designated hitter Paul Forrest, the Florida Fire Frogs lost to the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels, 3-2. Forrest went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Doug Keller recorded the save, his 8th. The losing streak for Florida has now reached 7 games.
Fort Myers used the clutch hitting of Cameron Barstad to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mighty Mussels ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Fort Myers manager Yushiro Ichihara. "It's usually not just one thing."
