Bradenton Beats Dunedin, 5-4
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Bradenton Marauders and Dunedin Blue Jays.
The Dunedin Blue Jays got a superb performance from pitcher Johnny Corrigan, but the Bradenton Marauders still won the game, 5-4. Corrigan threw 6.0 innings allowing 2 runs. The winning pitcher was Jonathan Ware. His record is now 1-2. The right-hander went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits for the Marauders. Chris Hall was credited with the save for Bradenton, his 1st of the season.
Bradenton used the timely hitting of Adam Bernad to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Marauders on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Dunedin manager Brooks Conrad said following the tough loss.
The Marauders raised their record to 22-23.
