With center fielder Eric Rodriguez leading the charge, the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels defeated the Clearwater Threshers, 7-6, at Hammond Stadium. Rodriguez, who is tied for 7th in the FLO with a .390 on-base percentage, went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Fort Myers reliever James Elwell picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Zack Showalter took the loss. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Fort Myers.

The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the 12th, with Fort Myers trailing 6-5, Tyler Black hit a fastball from Zack Showalter for a 2-run home run, giving the Mighty Mussels the walk-off win.

In postgame comments to the Fort Myers Chronicle, Rodriguez said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
