Threshers Lose Again, 5-2, to Tortugas
|
The Daytona Tortugas topped the Clearwater Threshers, 5-2, in Florida State League action at Carpenter Complex. The standout performance belonged to Daytona pitcher and New York, native Alex Santos. Santos, the winner, moves to 3-2. He threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 1 and giving up 2 walks. Clearwater has now lost 6 in a row.
Brad Nicholson helped out the Daytona cause in the top of the second inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the center fielder went 2 for 4 with a double.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Santos said after the game.
