Williams Leads Flying Tigers to 8-3 Win Over Tarpons
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Lakeland Flying Tigers and Tampa Tarpons.

No one was more impactful than Sonny Williams in the 8-3 Lakeland win over Tampa. Williams, who is tied for 7th in the FLO with a .856 OPS, went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Juan Valdéz earned the save, his 12th, for the Flying Tigers.

Lakeland used the timely hitting of Xavier Castillo to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Flying Tigers on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Williams said after the game.

At 27-24, the Flying Tigers find themselves in second place in the North.
