In a low-scoring tilt between the Tampa Tarpons and the Daytona Tortugas, Brian Brooks was the difference-maker. The Tampa left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The win belongs to Javier Ayala in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Adrián Romas took the loss for Daytona. Tampa's record now stands at 37-41, placing them 5th in the North.

Tampa won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With one out and Adrián Romas on the mound for Daytona, designated hitter Kyle Scott hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Tarpons fans to their feet.

"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Pat Borders, the Tampa skipper.
