Extra-Inning Win by Stone Crabs Over Threshers
|
The Charlotte Stone Crabs took Clearwater pitcher Brady Cook's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Carpenter Complex. The final score had Charlotte getting past the Threshers, 2-1. Cook went 6 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 8. Clearwater is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 10 in a row.
Charlotte used the timely hitting of Andy Schli to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Stone Crabs on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Schli.
