Stone Crabs Scratch Out 1-0 Win

Charlotte Stone Crabs starter Mariano Francisco was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Daytona Tortugas, 1-0. Francisco, the winner, moves to 8-6. He threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks. Jake Killingsworth collected his 12th save.
Arturo Gómez, the 23-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Gómez contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Charlotte up, 1-0.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Charlotte manager Hunter Pence.
The Stone Crabs lead the South by 7 games.
