Hits Galore: Beach Drills 5 Hits
Even as a kid, Kyle Beach said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At George M. Steinbrenner Field today, Beach showed how well he learned that lesson.

The 21-year-old second baseman had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels, helping his team knock off the Tampa Tarpons by a score of 11-3.

"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today."

Kyle Beach singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

Beach is currently batting .286 with 4 home runs and 40 RBIs.
