Stone Crabs Walk It Off for 75th Win of Season
|
The Charlotte Stone Crabs topped the Lakeland Flying Tigers by the score of 8-6, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Arturo Gómez. Gómez went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 5 for the Stone Crabs on the day. Charlotte goes to 75-40. The win puts them 5 games up in their division.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Charlotte trailing 6-5, Gómez hit a fastball from Juan Valdéz for a 3-run home run, giving the Stone Crabs the walk-off win.
