5-3 Loss Deepens Fort Myers Funk
The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels extended their losing streak with a loss to the Jupiter Hammerheads.

The Jupiter Hammerheads overcame a fine performance by Fort Myers designated hitter Kyle Beach to defeat the Mighty Mussels, 5-3, at Hammond Stadium. Beach went 4 for 4 with 4 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Brett Kerry picked up the win, improving his season record to 5-11. He struck out 6 in 6 innings. Lester Webb earned the save for Jupiter, his 19th of the year.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Arnold Flores? The Jupiter shortstop had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Hammerheads on top, 4-2. For the game, Flores had 2 doubles and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

Flores told a Jupiter Daily News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
