Flying Tigers Win 4th Straight, Take Down Tortugas, 5-4
|
The Lakeland Flying Tigers did just enough to secure a victory over the Daytona Tortugas, 5-4, at Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Alberto Hernández. Hernández got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 7 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. Hernández allowed 3 runs. Juan Valdéz sewed up the save, his 32nd.
Dan Hernández, the 24-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Hernández contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the second inning to put Lakeland up, 1-0.
Hernández called the triumph "a good team win."
The Flying Tigers, at 80-52, have now won 4 straight.
