Jared Shuster never let Palm Beach get something going. The St. Lucie left-hander commanded his changeup in pitching the Mets to a 3-1 win. Shuster, now 13-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. José Ybarra got the save, his 27th in 29 chances.

The Mets got a big at-bat from left fielder Michael Parker. For the game, Parker went 1-4 with a double. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 10th double of the season gave St. Lucie a 2-1 lead.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Parker. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
