Lugnuts Deal Cougars 5-1 Defeat
|
The Lansing Lugnuts beat the Kane County Cougars, 5-1, at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark. The Lugnuts got a fine performance from first baseman Austin Blazevic, who went 2 for 2 with a double and 3 walks. Lorne Critch, now 1-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. The loss drops Kane County to 12-8.
The Lugnuts benefited from a costly error in the top of the fifth. With Steve Teague at bat and Lansing leading 1-0, the Kane County miscue allowed Lansing to plate 2 and take the lead, 3-0.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Teague told the Lansing Times.
