The Burlington Bees racked up a win at Community Field, bumping off the Fort Wayne TinCaps, 2-1. Thomas Mangum, who started for Burlington, pitched effectively for his team. Michael Knorr got credit for the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. Brayan Medina recorded the save for Burlington, his 15th of the season.
Burlington took a 2-1 lead on Dani Sánchez's 10th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Sánchez hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Fort Wayne pitcher Eli Layard shaking his head.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Sánchez said after the game.
With the win, the Bees sit at 29-18.
