Whitecaps Shut Out Hot Rods, 6-0

West Michigan picked up a win at Bowling Green Ballpark, toppling the Bowling Green Hot Rods, 6-0. Pitcher Caden Dana was one of the reasons the Whitecaps triumphed. Dana, now 5-5, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing no runs. West Michigan is now 25-27.
The Whitecaps got an important contribution from third baseman Jake Sanderson, who in the top of the third punched a 2-1 fastball into left-center for a solo home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Whitecaps ahead, 2-0.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Sanderson said after the game.
