Bowling Green took on West Michigan in front of a lively crowd.
The Bowling Green Hot Rods grabbed a win, 10-6, over the West Michigan Whitecaps at Bowling Green Ballpark. Bowling Green third baseman Ronald Cooper was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 4 runs. Tommy Leppert, 3-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. The save went to Bernardo Méndez, number 5 for him.
Ethan Murray was 1 for 4 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs for Bowling Green. The 24-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring walk off Davis Palermo. It was his 36th walk of the season.
"Winning is contagious," said Murray. "We're looking forward to the next game."
At 41-37, the Hot Rods are currently 4th in the East.
