David Keller pitched well, but the Great Lakes Loons still lost the game, falling 4-1 to the Peoria Chiefs at Dow Diamond. Peoria reliever Roberto Ramos picked up the win, upping his record to 6-2. David Keller was saddled with the loss. Adam Mazur was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 15 of 17 save opportunities.
Jake Briningstool, the 20-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Briningstool contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to put Peoria up, 1-0.
"Enjoyed this one," Briningstool told the Peoria Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
