Boston-Oakland Trade: Hernández for Traver Wednesday, May 25th , 2022 The Baseball News Network is reporting that Boston and Oakland have agreed in principle to a swap that will send 27-year old RHP Manuel Hernández, 19-year old minor league RHP Jake Boeheim, and 22-year old minor league RHP Jacob Meador to the Athletics with 28-year old RHP Mitchell Traver joining the Red Sox. Boston general manager Brett Jackson would not confirm the trade, but a team representative close to the negotiations said the deal is official and is now only awaiting approval from the league. This season Hernández has chalked up no saves, notched a 0-0 record with a 2.61 ERA, allowed 10 hits in his 10.1 innings of work, struck out 9 and walked 7. Opponents are hitting .244 against the Oakland hurler. During this season Traver has 13 relief appearances and registered 1 saves. Batters are hitting him at a .250 rate and his season record is 4-2 with a 6.00 ERA. He has logged 21 innings and struck out 28. |
