Diamondbacks on to World Series Sunday, October 23rd , 2022 The Arizona Diamondbacks are one step closer to winning a World Series, and the season came to a close for the St. Louis Cardinals. Arizona won the League Championship Series 4-1, with a 4-1 victory in the deciding game at Busch Stadium today. Arizona catcher Matt Hanson was named the MVP of the series, after hitting .455 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 1 homers, drove in 5 RBI and scored 5 runs. "I just hope I can keep it up in the World Series," he said. The Arizona Diamondbacks don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Los Angeles Angels - Toronto Blue Jays series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The World Series is scheduled to begin on October 27th , 2022.
