Oakland-Kansas City Fight Results in Suspensions Saturday, June 12th, 2021 Yesterday at O.co Coliseum Henry Powell and Jason Neal got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Oakland Athletics and Kansas City Royals. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Powell will have to sit out 4 while Neal would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. For the year Powell is batting .207 with 5 home runs, 14 RBIs and 28 runs scored. To date this season, Neal has registered 11 starts, 5-3 won-lost mark, 4.99 ERA, 61.1 IP, 54 strikeouts and 24 walks. Opposing teams have hit .259 against him. |
