Oakland's Trevor Story Suffers Setback Tuesday, August 17th, 2021 Trevor Story is hurting again, just a few days into his treatment for a strained back muscle. Apparently the injury worsened, so the Athletics sent the 28-year-old shortstop back to the doctors for reexamination. Story told them that the pain had gotten much worse in recent days. It was confirmed that the injury was indeed much more severe that first thought. He was sent to a specialist, who felt that treatment would be longer than first diagnosed. Story will now miss a minimum of one week. For the season Story is currently batting .216 with 15 home runs and 40 RBIs. In 70 games he has reached base at a .277 rate and scored 25 runs to date. |
