Thrilling Win Pushes Milwaukee to Next Round Thursday, October 7th, 2021 Pedro Cuevas said he couldn't let his team's season come to an end while he was standing on the mound. The starting pitcher propelled his Milwaukee Brewers to a 4-3 win over the St. Louis Cardinals in the Wild Card Series at Miller Park and they are now off to the Divisional Series. "I told myself I needed to step up and that my team was counting on me," Cuevas said. "When you've got all your teammates relying on you, you've got to come through in a big way." The starting pitcher certainly did come through, as he led the team to victory with 7 innings pitched, with 4 strikeouts, while allowing 7 hits, no walks and 3 runs. The Milwaukee Brewers will play against the Pittsburgh Pirates in the next round. Pittsburgh had a bye in the Wild Card Series.
