Durham's Witt Jr. Wins IL Hitter of the Year Award Monday, October 3rd , 2022 The future looks extremely bright for Bobby Witt Jr.. At the age of 22, many players are still trying to find their way in International League. Witt Jr. has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the International League Hitter of the Year Award. "I didn't expect to hit .295 this year, that's for sure," the shortstop said. The Durham Bulls star also put up a .370 on-base percentage this year, with 142 hits, 27 doubles, 1 triple, 18 home runs, 89 RBIs and 89 runs scored. He received 10 first place votes out of a possible 14.
