Brooks Batters Colorado Springs Big Time
Monday, August 10th, 2020
Jeff Brooks put on a hitting clinic today as the El Paso Chihuahuas dumped the Colorado Springs Sky Sox 10-2 at Southwest University Park.
The El Paso center fielder made Colorado Springs defenders earn their pay, lashing Colorado Springs pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Brooks said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Jeff Brooks singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 6th and hit an RBI triple in the 8th.
So far this season, Brooks has recorded a .276 batting average with 100 hits, 6 home runs, 43 RBIs, 41 runs scored and a .353 OBP.
