Leach Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Friday, April 24th, 2020 Bowie right fielder Bryan Leach went down swinging at Jerry Uht Park today, knocking out 5 hits even as his Baysox fell, 9-8. "It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Leach said after his 5-for-8 performance against the Erie SeaWolves. "No offense meant to Erie, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well." After the game, his manager elaborated on the right fielder's improvements, saying Leach spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball. "That's what I'm trying to do," Leach agreed. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it." Bryan Leach doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, struck out in the 8th, hit an RBI single in the 9th, singled in the 11th and singled in the 12th.
