Fightin Phils John Lane Wins EL Award Monday, August 16th, 2021 It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Eastern League, but last week John Lane of the Reading Fightin Phils reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Lane rocked opposing pitching for a .375 average (9-for-24), 5 home runs and 9 RBIs to come away with the award. This year Lane is hitting .279 with 13 home runs and 58 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .394 clip and scored 49 runs. |
