Smokies Carter Silences Biloxi
Sunday, August 2nd, 2020
The Biloxi Shuckers ran into a buzzsaw at MGM Park today as Tennessee Smokies starter Herman Carter cut them down to size, 6-0, tossing a 2-hit shutout.
"That's one thing that has never changed in this game -- pitching can control hitting," Smokies manager Jacque Jones told reporters after the game. "Herman knows exactly what he's doing. He's not going to throw you a good pitch until you make him throw one."
In the complete game whitewash, the Tennessee hurler doled out 2 walks and registered 7 strikeouts.
To this point in the season, Carter shows a 2-3 record, 7 starts, 41.1 innings, 30 strikeouts and a 4.35 ERA.
