BayBears Hurler Named SL's Best Starter Tuesday, September 1st, 2020 There's something about a young rookie winning the Southern League Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Steve Bond, a 27-year-old starter for the Mobile BayBears. In August, he topped off the month with a 4-1 mark and 2.23 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 36.1 innings, fanned 24 and held opposing teams to a .206 average. In 11 starts this season Bond has chalked up a 7-3 record and a 3.50 ERA. |
