Pitcher of the Year Award Winner Announced Thursday, October 6th , 2022 It was a dream season for Josh Garrett of Tennessee Smokies. He pitched his way to a 11-6 record and carted off the 2022 Southern League Pitcher of the Year Award. Working 165 innings this year, Garrett made 25 starts, struck out 154 and crafted a 2.56 ERA. He gave up 139 hits and 43 walks and limited other teams to a .230 average. He received 7 first place votes out of a possible 10. Matt Tabor of the Mississippi Braves finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Orlando Gonzáles of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp finished third.
