Walker and Kingsburry Brawl, League Suspends Them Sunday, May 21st , 2023 After an intense confrontation, both the Barons Jordan Walker and the Smokies Maverick Kingsburry were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Birmingham-Tennessee game. Jordan Walker will miss 5 games, while Maverick Kingsburry was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Jordan Walker commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Presently Walker is batting .197 and has collected 2 home runs, 6 RBIs, .279 OBP and scored 7 runs. This season Kingsburry has crafted a 3-1 mark with a 4.14 ERA in 41.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .240 against him and he has 38 strikeouts. |
