August's Best Hurler in SL is Canales Wednesday, September 1st, 2021 Over the past month Juan Canales has turned quite a few heads. He's young, talented and able to pitch with the established arms in the Southern League. He proved all that and now he's been named August's Pitcher of the Month. The rookie for the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp posted 4-1 mark and a 2.29 ERA. In 6 starts he tossed 39.1 innings, permitted 33 hits and fanned 33 batters. To date this year, Canales shows a 8-8 record, 21 starts, 127.2 innings, 115 strikeouts and a 2.61 ERA. |
