Pitcher of the Year Award Presented to Montgomery Star

The spotlight today is on Ethan Reed of the Montgomery Biscuits. He was named the top pitcher in the Southern League and will be honored with the 2021 Pitcher of the Year Award.

Reed compiled an impressive 13-3 won-lost mark to capture this year's honor. In 158.2 innings of work and 28 starts, the Biscuits star struck out 183, while giving up 119 hits and 49 walks. He limited opposing batters to a .207 average.

He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Rob Francis of the Mobile BayBears finished second in voting, while Claudio Escamilla of the Birmingham Barons finished third.
