Smokies Prevail, as Round 1 Goes to the Wire Sunday, September 17th , 2023 The Tennessee Smokies and Montgomery Biscuits didn't hold back anything in the Round 1, with each team pulling out all the stops in an effort to advance to the Championship. Tennessee won the final game by a score of 3-2 at Smokies Park and that concluded the series, 3-2. "Relief is the biggest thing," Tennessee left fielder Andy Pages said when asked how he felt. "It's a grind both mentally and physically to have a long series like this, but our guys stuck with it and Montgomery deserves credit for the hard fight." Pages paced the Tennessee offence and earned MVP honors. For the series, he hit .316 with a .333 on-base percentage, 2 home runs, 4 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Tennessee Smokies will play against the Mississippi Braves in the next round. Mississippi won their series against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos 3 games to 0.
