Best Hurler Award Presented by TEX Saturday, October 8th , 2022 The Arkansas Travelers have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making. It's Alex Holtmann, this year's Texas League Pitcher of the Year Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance. Holtmann compiled a 11-3 record in 24 starts, tallied 169 strikeouts in 154 innings and recorded a 2.05 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .198 batting average against him. He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Luis Patino of the Arkansas Travelers finished second in voting, while Kenny Funkhouser of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals finished third.
