Sauer Selected TEX's Best Pitcher Wednesday, September 1st, 2021 The Pitcher of the Month in the Texas League for August was Arkansas's star reliever Matt Sauer. "I was wondering if relievers were even eligible for this thing," Sauer joked with reporters. "I guess the voters do know there's actual pitchers down there in the pen." The Travelers bullpen ace collected 11 saves and 19 strikeouts in 16 innings, holding the opposition to a .158 average and posting a 0.56 ERA and a 1-1 record. Thus far this season Sauer has saved 30 games. His won-lost mark is 4 wins and 5 losses with 69 strikeouts in 70 innings, along with a 3.21 ERA. |
