Great Day for Joyner, Hits for Cycle
Saturday, June 13th, 2020
It was a quite a day for Keith Joyner at San Jose Municipal Stadium.
He hit for the cycle, belting out every kind of hit there is -- a single, double, triple and home run. The Inland Empire second baseman accomplished the rare feat during his team's 16-0 victory over the San Jose Giants.
"I never even thought about hitting for the cycle and what do you know, I did it," he told BNN reporters at the postgame press conference. "The cycle really doesn't matter to me, it's the win that's important."
Joyner went 5-for-6 in the game with 4 runs batted in and 3 runs scored.
Keith Joyner grounded out in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Johnson in the 7th and tripled in the 9th.
Joyner's current batting average stands at .247 and he has chalked up 2 home runs and 20 RBIs.
