High Desert Sweeps into the Championship Sunday, September 11th , 2022 The High Desert Mavericks outclassed the Inland Empire 66ers in all facets of the game throughout the CAL Round 1. The end result was a High Desert series sweep to advance to the Championship, capped off by a 9-6 win in the final game. "We're a bit surprised it's over in a sweep, to be honest with you," said second baseman Paul Jorgensen, who hit .538 in the series. Jorgensen's standout effort garnered him MVP honors. He also put up a .538 on-base percentage and had 0 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 4 runs. The High Desert Mavericks don't know who they will face in the next round.
