Great Stroke: Leonard Gets 5 Hits Sunday, August 20th , 2023 Anthony Leonard told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Leonard of the Stockton Ports did against the Bakersfield Blaze. He went to the plate 5 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, but his club still suffered a 9-6 defeat. "Not much I can say," offered Leonard in the postgame press conference. "I got a bunch of hits, but it would have been much better to get a win. Can I trade 5 hits for the win?" Anthony Leonard hit an RBI double in the 1st, tripled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
