Nationals End Gorski's Streak Monday, July 17th , 2023 The Winston-Salem Dash lost to the Fredericksburg Nationals 6-1 today at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Matt Gorski's 20-game hitting streak. The left fielder went 0-for-4 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Gorski, we would win the game," Nationals manager Justin Maxwell explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." Thus far this season Gorski has hit .300 with 9 home runs, 47 RBIs and scored 49 times. |
