Red-Hot McIvor Scorches Fire Frogs Monday, June 6th , 2022 Maverick McIvor exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Space Coast Stadium. The Lakeland left fielder had a field day in the 9-7 triumph over the Florida Fire Frogs, finishing 5-for-5. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." McIvor must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Maverick McIvor singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run triple in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Bryan Waltone in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This season McIvor has hit 2 home runs and posted a .250 batting average. View Boxscore |
